Hello, hi. Welcome back guys.

As you all know, I’m all about beauty. Lately, I’ve been making some posts talking about my favourite makeup and skincare products (link to those – here and here). Considering I had started doing that, I thought it would be very disrespectful not to finish off the beauty posts I’ve been uploading with a sprinkle of hair care!

When it comes to buying anything hair care related, I’m a problem. Just like many of my natural sisters, I have a habit of walking into a hair shop/beauty supply store and buying way more products than I came in for. It’s even more funny to me because my hair is usually always in braids meaning a lot of the things I do buy, stay unused until my hair has come out for its usual breather.

Despite knowing this, I walk into a hair shop and it’s a wrap.

I’m already picking up creams for the perfect twist out as well as sprays for detangling my hair during it’s protective styling state.

When will I learn?

Anyway, here are my Top 5 products that I love the most out of the ones I’ve picked up over the years. While we’re here, I’d like to let you all know that Superdrug is actually the plug when it comes to getting hair care stuff. Although the selection for ethnic hair types is fairly limited, a lot of the items they do stock are way cheaper than at your local hair shop.

Now, back to our regularly scheduled programming.

5. Tangle Teezer Detangling Hairbrush – £9.35

I must admit, I was skeptical about this product because I truly didn’t see it working well for my hair type. The possibility of it actually doing what it was designed to just didn’t seem likely for me but I bought it anyway because why not?

Surprisingly, it does the job! It is slightly awkward to hold but it really does reduce the amount of hair I accidentally rip out when detangling.

Shoutout Tangle Teezer!

4.5 & 4. Cantu Coconut Curling Cream (£5.32) and Cantu Moisturizing Twist & Lock Gel (£4.66)

Yes, I know I’m cheating but in my defence these shouldn’t be used without the other. I use both at the same time to create the most immaculate twist out and I’m yet to be disappointed. In all honesty, I haven’t even tried them separately but I can imagine it wouldn’t go down well.

The gel would make the twists crispy without the curling cream and the curling cream probably wouldn’t hold the twists for as long as I’d like.

See? They need each other to prosper.

3. Shea Moisture Black Castor Oil Hair Mask – £7.32

I’ve actually been using this as a hair conditioner since I went natural, which was about 4 years ago.

Give or take a year.

I tried a whole bunch of conditioners and none were sitting right with my hair for some reason. My hair loves this one though, it always feels so soft afterwards and I see my curl pattern coming through. I also detangle while the conditioner sits in and listen? It makes that whole process quick, painless and pretty easy.

This thing is life, and it smells great too!

2. Aunt Jackie’s Hydrating Silkening Hair Milk – £6.32

Fellow members of #BraidGang, this one’s for you. One thing braid wearers have in common is that our hair can sometimes get neglected when we have our braids in. Moisture is much harder for us to get so sometimes we skip it all together, but our hair needs it so we need to find a quick and easy solution.

Enter Aunt Jackie.

She knew we were struggling and devised this spray containing literally everything we could need for our hair to be at it’s best. I’m talking Avocado, Vitamin E and Flaxseed! These three things are great for nourishing your curls and helping with overall strength and growth.

My hair has truly been living for this little gift and I wanted to share the blessings with all of you.

Introducing our Top 5 Winner: Got2be Spiking Glue Ultra Hold – £3.00

This is a special announcement.

Ladies! If you struggle to get your edges laid for the whole day? I got you.

This thing right here? It’s actually witchcraft. My edges will not budge if I use this and I can’t even believe I’d been out here using Ecostyler for as long as I did. Not only does it produce zero white flakes, your edges will be hard, solid and ready to go in a minimum of 5 minutes flat.

Can you say “excellent”!?

This treasure had to be number 1 and I know the company has been swimming in money recently. See what happens when your products can be used on multiple races? No shade, but shade xoxo.

But there you have it my loves, my top 5 hair care products and thus the end of the top 5 trifecta.

Before you fly away from Quite Frankly, my September playlist is now live so go check that out if you need some new music.

Bless up and see y’all in the next one.

with all my love,
