Hello, hi. Welcome back.
I’m a couple of days late but all the same, I’m still welcoming the arrival of September. Autumn is my season but I know many of you are burning that summer is officially over and with it, the sunshine. However, I’m still wearing my smile from the Summer season. I’m all about oversized hoodies, wearing riding boots everywhere and drinking my Peach tea in the autumn mornings so again, I’m welcoming September with open arms.
A new month poses new opportunities, whether that be for personal growth and development or just to start over. I see a new month as a mini New Year celebration so I still make a couple of goals that I hope to achieve by the end of the 30 days. I also take the time to look back on what I’ve been up to the last couple of months.
September has already started off great so I hope the next couple of weeks follow suit. Not only did I see the young people I had been working with over the summer graduate their summer program, I also attended my first networking event for Creatives. If you weren’t at The Creative’s Con, you missed out on a night of positive vibes all around.
I met some of my favourite YouTubers as well as picked up some tips to help Quite Frankly continue to develop. Albeit, I was moving very shy but it was an experience I think I really needed. Networking is such an important thing to be able to do and although I struggle to do so (I hate bothering people), The Creative’s Con eased me into the process of networking by putting me in a position where I had no choice but to do so. I’ve really got to take the time to shoutout my friend who came with me actually, I’m very certain that I wouldn’t have moved an inch if she hadn’t been with me so she’s an amazing human being.
While we’re here, I’d also like to thank Manny for creating a place where all types of Creatives can come together in one place. Not only is he a sweetheart, he’s also ridiculously hard working and I’m here for his growth (check out his YouTube channel – here!). Going to his convention helped me make my first goal for the month; work on my networking skills in this lovely month of September.
Now, September is a return to reality for many of us. We’ve all enjoyed the summer heat (especially us Brits, the sun was blessing us very differently this year), some of us were catching flights and not feelings, some were out here making their coins but regardless of what you were doing this summer, I hope you thoroughly enjoyed that break from education. Those couple of months of vacation really do make all the difference to how we approach the new academic year so I hope we’ve all taken advantage of the break to invest in our happiness. I know I did and will definitely continue to work on that this month. Bringing me into my next goal: continuing my happy streak.
I’ve been pretty happy lately, content and excited for the future. I’m hoping my return to university doesn’t mess that up, so the plan is to implement little things to ensure that doesn’t happen. Whether that be having specific days to unplug from the world, or adding a new hobby to the list. However, I’m very conscious of the fact that I’m going into 3rd year and need to be on my grind, but I also want to be in a great and healthy mindset this year. I think it’ll make all the difference.
The arrival of September has made me more aware of how close I am to Graduation as well as how far I’ve come, but we can definitely save that one for another post in the near future. Hopefully, it’ll be sprinkled with good news too.
So guys, I hope you’re entering September with positive vibes; make small or even big goals to achieve this month to ensure you’re making the most of every day gifted to you.
with all my love,
