Hello. Hi. Welcome back guys x
It’s been a little while since I posted, so how’s life? Your girl is great, she’s taken ¼ of her exams and is one step closer to freedom.
I know a lot of us go full academics mode during exam season and really neglect ourselves as a whole during this time. It’s understandable, we want to do our best and feel we don’t have time to waste doing anything.
Believe me, I get it.
I’m that person that stresses when I have to cook during exam season because it just seems like wasted time. Ridiculous right? Eating is a basic human function and I’m here thinking I don’t have time for it.
Self-care is kind of in the same bracket.
I always think I don’t have time for it but I do think it’s just as important as cooking (much less of course). It’s important that you maintain your sanity during exam season which usually means; ensuring you do things that make you happy during your study breaks, keeping your mood up as well as keeping your skin & overall body healthy.
Now, being a strong advocate for all things self-care definitely means I have a cheeky little routine of my own. I tend to take 30 minutes – 1 hour of my Wednesday’s and Sunday’s to really pamper my skin. It might be the products I use or just good genes, but I’m proud to be a member of #ClearSkinTwitter.
So for today’s post, I thought I’d share with you all what my skin-care routine consists of.
From left to right: 1.Nip + Fab Repair Bee Sting Fix Repairing Shot 2. LUSH Chocolate Lip Scrub 3. L’Oreal Pure Clay Glow Mask 4. L’Oreal Smooth Sugars Nourish Scrub 5. Bath & Body Works Inhale Exhale Candle 6. Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin & Nails Gummies
Usually on Wednesday’s and Sunday’s, I have no makeup on my face but if I do, I’ll make sure my face is clean before I start my skin care pamper session. Now, the first thing I like to do is use my L’Oreal Smooth Sugars scrub; the whole purpose of this is to get rid of any dead skin on the surface of my face as well as any impurities that have been living their best life on my skin throughout the day. This actually doubles as a lip scrub but I love my Lush scrub to pieces and honestly just prefer to use it instead.
After I’ve scrubbed my skin to softness, I rinse and get the mask on. I use the L’Oreal Pure Clay Glow mask and I swear my supply is dying slowly. I absolutely love this thing and I’m definitely repurchasing it..over and over again. The mask has both exfoliating and brightening properties but because I’ve just scrubbed my face, I try to be very careful not to rub it in when washing it off (that’s when it starts to act as an exfoliator – we’ve already done that and don’t need to put extra pressure on our skin). Mainly, we care about the brightening properties but I guess the exfoliation is unavoidable.
Anyway, I let this mask sit for 10 minutes and in this time I’m doing whatever, which usually means either cleaning my room or watching some YouTube videos. Most of the time, I tend to have a candle burning purely because I’m just obsessed. My candle of choice currently is the Bath & Body Works “Inhale Exhale” candle which I really had to do a lot to get. I love Bath & Body Works but they’re hella cheeky in the sense that they don’t have a store in the UK.
I will never pay that international shipping for one damn candle so your girl went to eBay and found a seller! Don’t worry, I got you guys and I’ve linked it in the picture caption. You welcome x
Back to the routine, apologies guys.
Where were we?
Ooooo, the mask!
So after 10 minutes, I get to the sink and wash it off. It’s usually at this time that I use the Lush Chocolate scrub for my lips here as well. Once I’ve washed both the scrub and mask off, we move on to the Nip + Fab Repairing Shot which is really just a fancy light moisturiser. However, I have ridiculously dry skin so my face needs moisture after this routine. My everyday moisturiser is way too thick for the night time so this is where the repairing shot comes in, it’s both moisturising and light so a win-win!
As for the Nature’s Bounty Hair, Skin & Nail gummies, I take those twice everyday. I mainly started taking them for hair growth but realised it’s really been good to my skin and nails as well. I started taking them in March and I’m excited to see if there’s any hair growth once I take down my braids.
But that’s for another day.
Hope you guys liked this one. It was a hella long on so if you made it here? You fire x
See ya’ll in the next one.
with all my love,
